Is it not time to return to spirit of holidays?

With Thanksgiving just over and Christmas near, it might be well to ponder the good fortune we have being born in this part of the world! Contemporary news might suggest that too many living in our country today do not realize how fortunate they are to be citizens here!

Local volunteer fire departments need more help

The point here is all local volunteer fire departments need more help. We do the best we can with the people we have, but the time seems to be coming when no one will respond to someone’s fire. More property damage will result, and lives may even be lost for lack of volunteers.

Plan: power, control over general public

I see in the local newspapers where the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests have adopted a travel plan and some wilderness areas. Some of the other forests have already done this. To me, this is nothing more than power and control over the general recreational public, mainly the senior citizens who developed the forest to what it is today.

If you want to support high-paying jobs in Idaho, you will support a business-friendly environment of lower taxes and less regulation. You would support the free enterprise system. You should place more trust in people than in the government welfare system.
