Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for Nov. 15

The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday Nov. 15, noon. This will be a Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 208-926-7776.

People First food drive to be held Nov. 11

Mark your calendars for this Saturday, Nov. 11, for Grangeville People First’s annual Food Drive for the Idaho County Food Bank. It will be held at Asker’s Harvest Foods from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The group will also be having a baked food sale at the same time and place with all proceeds donated to the food bank.

Kretzmann to speak at Encouragers Nov. 2

ALACCA is site for Operation Christmas Child shoebox drop

ALACCA Bible Camp, 101 China Garden Road, is a drop-off for Operation Christmas Child’s shoebox program through the Samaritan’s Purse ministry. Drop-off days are 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18; 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 16 and 17; 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 19; and Nov. 20, 8 to 10 a.m. Shoeboxes with small toys, candy and clothes are sent, along with the gospel of Jesus Christ in their language, to children throughout the world.

Cottonwood schools awarded grant for mixer

The Idaho State Department of Education recently awarded $111,967.94 in federal grant funding through its Child Nutrition Programs to help 11 schools across Idaho purchase new equipment for their National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. Idaho received the funding through the United States Department of Agriculture Equipment Assistance Grant. Individual grant awards funded new equipment including walk-in freezers, a salad bar and a 40-quart mixer.

Fall dinner, bazaar to be held in Kamiah Nov. 12

Free lunch for veterans set for Nov. 10

Grangeville American Legion Post No. 37 invites all community veterans and their families to a free luncheon on Friday, Nov. 10, in celebration of Veterans Day. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Idaho County Veterans Outreach and Community Center located at 318 E. Main Street, Grangeville. Dinner, raffle, Bingo set for Ferdinand

Assumption Parish of Ferdinand will be holding its annual dinner and raffle Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at the Ferdinand parish hall. A roast beef and ham dinner and dessert will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost for adults is $10, K through 6th grade is $5, and preschool and under eat free. There will be a presentation of quilts to area veterans at 2 p.m. The raffle drawing will begin at 4 p.m. with more than 20 chances to win mostly cash prizes. Bingo will be played all day.
