Holiday closures set for county recycling sites

The Kooskia, Grangeville and Cottonwood collection sites of Idaho County Recycling will be closed for two upcoming holiday weekends: Saturday, Nov.25 (after Thanksgiving) and Saturday, Dec. 23, (before Christmas).

Community Briefs - Nov. 8, 2017

Low income families in Grangeville, Harpster, Clearwater, Fenn or White Bird, are welcome to sign up their children for the Grangeville Tree of Sharing. To have your child’s wishes placed on the tree, you will need to sign up at the Department of Health and Welfare (C Street in Grangeville) no later than Dec. 8. Anyone having questions may contact Linda at 208-983-2300. Those from other communities will need to sign up for the tree in their area.

Home driving tour brochures available

Brochures for the Grangeville Turn of the Century Home Driving Tour can be picked up at Bicentennial Historical Museum, 305 North College Street, Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. (winter hours) or call 208-983-2573. They are also available at The Idaho County Genealogical Society, 111 South Idaho Street, Grangeville, which is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 1 to 4 p.m.

Library activities set for Family Read Week

Come Celebrate Family Read Week at Grangeville Centennial Library Nov. 14 -16 Tuesday night, Nov. 14, from 4-6 p.m., will be “The Puppet Theater.” Join in for a puppet story time and puppet making from 4-6 p.m. The theme this year is “Tell Me a Tale.” This year is all about folktales, fables and family storytelling.

Free lunch for veterans set for Nov. 10

Grangeville American Legion Post No. 37 invites all community veterans and their families to a free luncheon on Friday, Nov. 10, in celebration of Veterans Day. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Idaho County Veterans Outreach and Community Center located at 318 E. Main Street, Grangeville.
