Fire Dance

Fire science education for youth merged with the performing arts when the University of Montana CoMotion Dance Project performed Fire Speaks the Land: An Active Audiences Performance at Clearwater Valley Elementary School in Kooskia Monday, March 10. The group will also perform in Grangeville at GEMS March 14 at 1 p.m. Fire Speaks the Land features five dancers, a narrator, scenery and lighting, colorful costumes as well as several opportunities for the audience to participate in the performance, both on and off stage. Students learn about ecological issues relevant to the region through an artistic, narrated performance.
