MOSCOW — The University of Idaho recently announced winners of the 23rd Annual High School Art Competition sponsored by the College of Art and Architecture’s Art and Design program. The theme for this year’s artwork is “STEM to STEAM” Adding the Arts to STEM.
Among the winners was Tyler Hankerson of Prairie High School who received an honorable mention.
Weed workshop offered in Kooskia March 18
KOOSKIA — Are weeds invading your space? If so, then plan to attend the weed management workshop for private landowners on Tuesday, March 18, at the Kooskia Community Center.
The workshop is presented by Idaho County Weed Management, Idaho Soil and Water Conservation District, Upper Clearwater Weed Management Area, University of Idaho and NRCS. A variety of weed control topics will be covered including herbicides, insects, targeted grazing and mechanical controls. Experts will be on hand to help landowners develop an integrated management plan tailored to their property and their specific weed concerns.
Sign-in for the workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. with presentations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no cost to participants and lunch is provided; however, seating is limited so register by March 13 by calling 983-2667 or emailing email@example.com.
The workshop is funded in part by the Idaho Department of Lands in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service.
Little Princess Tea Party set for March 15
COTTONWOOD — Mark calendars now for the “Little Princess Tea Party” presented by the Idaho County Fair Royalty. This event will be held Saturday, March 15, at the Prairie Junior-Senior High School Cafeteria on Keuterville Rd. in Cottonwood.
The party will begin at 1 p.m. Cost is $6 for the princess, age 4 years to fourth grade. The little princesses need to be accompanied by an adult. Wear a princess or party dress. Pictures for purchase will be available or bring a camera. American Legion, auxiliary to meet tonight
GRANGEVILLE — American Legion Post 37 and Auxiliary Unit will have the March meeting on Wednesday, March 5, at the Idaho National Guard Armory from 7-8 p.m. Plans for our upcoming Annual Birthday Dinner and Awards Banquet on March 29 will be discussed. Oktubberfest meeting set for The Gallery Tuesday, March 11
GRANGEVILLE – Those interested in volunteering for Oktubberfest are invited to join a planning/discussion meeting at The Gallery Tuesday, March 11, 6 p.m.
