Salmon River 66, Council 26: Savages claim back-to-back 1AD2 titles

— With a relentless offense, in which quarterback Leighton Vander Esch combined pure athleticism with sure-footed improvisation, Salmon River claimed its second consecutive state championship with a 66-26 victory over Council in the class 1AD2 title game Friday night at Bronco Stadium.
